Modelling or Acting, what comes more naturally to you
I feel modelling for anything, be it ramp shows, TVC’s or any other medium requires acting so, yes in a way acting has always been a part of me and comes most naturally to me.
A sentence to describe the following people you have worked with:
Judi Dench: One of the most sophisticated and an extremely graceful persons I have ever come across. If I were to define her it would be one word – LEGENDARY.
Dev Patel: I think he’s really entertaining. He’s totally a clown, everything he does always brings a smile on one’s face and maybe that’s what makes him a good actor as well.
Rajeev Khandelwal: One of the most intense persons to be with. Intense in terms of acting, I mean the way he effortlessly performs his scenes are commendable, truly.
Saif Ali Khan: Well, many words come in my mind rather than a sentence, he’s rather funny, classy and thoughtful. I personally feel he has a very British sense of humour, in the sense that when one interacts with him, you know he’s spent too much time abroad.
Paresh Rawal: A man who is so full of life. I feel he’s funnier than what he is on screen. His comic timing is commendable and therefore I would call him a man with an excellent source of humour.
A film you regret not taking up?
I choose my films wisely, so I regret nothing.
The most overrated and the most under-rated actor according to you is?
The most overrated actor, I really can’t think of any, because everyone puts in equal amount of effort in a film, but yes the most underrated actor for me is Akshaye Khanna. I really think he has the potential, just not the right set of people to work with.
The Books currently on your shelf?
Jack Reacher- Lee Child and Paths of Glory– Jeffrey Archer
Your take on the following:
Reality Shows: For me it served as the best platform to better projects (She was a part of Channels V’s television model hunt Get Gorgeous) although otherwise I hate it, simply because of its redundant content.
Beauty Pageants: It’s a stepping stone to great exposure.
Television serials: If it’s Indian TV serials, it’s not my cup of tea because I really don’t relate to it but yes international sitcoms are pretty interesting assignments to work on, especially American sitcoms is something I would love to be a part of.
Photoshoots: A brilliant way to explore emotions , in the sense that for that one moment I get to roleplay completely outside my genre. I’m usually the girl next door and in a recent shoot, they wanted me to go completely Gothic, you know to be harsh and all which is so unlike me. So it’s kind of a strengthening aspect to character building and makes me realise that I am capable of doing something dark, something quirky in the future.
TVCs: I love it and I’m attached to it and I plan to continue on it forever.
A dream role for Tena would be?
To play Harry Potter. Not Ron, not Hermoine, just Harry because not only does he have a meatier role, but his character has all possible shades I always wanted to play.
Music you absolutely can’t stand
Not exactly hate, but I dislike Ghazals simply because I prefer “on the go” sort of music and Ghazals are too slow for my tastes.
A role you would love to redo
The character of Arunima Dua in Yeh Faasley, simply because it was my first film and that’s where you make all your errors and I believe her character was quite strong. But then again even for Marigold or Table no 21, I would say the same thing because at the end of watching the movie, I think I have understood the character better and I want to redo it again.
